    Volusia County sheriff's deputies are seeking the public's help in locating a missing, possibly endangered Osteen woman who has exhibited suicidal behavior. “Matria Elizabeth Hardy, 66, of Pine Drive in Osteen, was seen swallowing pills with alcohol around 9:15 p.m. Monday,” said sheriff's spokesman Andrew Gant.

    There's prime real estate - like the empty oceanfront land Volusia County owns with intentions for off-beach parking lots.  And then there's this: county-owned land smack dab in the middle of residential areas that no developer seems to want.  The county has had a tough time finding takers for 28 parcels that were seized from property owners who stopped paying taxes. Now, as a last resort, the land is on the clearance rack, available for at least 10 percent of its value, to neighboring homeowners who want to expand their acreage.
