    An Orange man was sentenced Wednesday to 57 months in prison for defrauding a company out of more than $2.5 million and forcing it to go out of business, costing about 40 people their jobs. Deirdre M. Daly, U.S. attorney for the District of Connecticut sent out a press release detailing the case history of Edward Petrucci, 58, of Orange, who pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and one count of mail fraud in November 2013.

    Monday was the hottest day of the year so far, and today is pretty much the same with 52% humidity, yet the crews from the Orange Highway Department and paving contractors are out there putting the finishing touches on Dogwood Road, the final step in this year's road improvement plan. So many residents have complained about the inconvenience that the road work has caused them over the past couple of months, but, do they remember when they were dodging pot holes after the incredible winter we had? I drove by one newly paved street and saw a man obviously complaining to a friend or neighbor about the curbing surrounding his property as he kicked the newly installed asphalt mound.
