    The body of a man who died from an apparent drug overdose was found inside a car parked outside a Wawa in Orange City late Sunday morning. Orange City police are investigating the death as suspicious, but Police Department spokesman Jason Sampsell said that's only a procedural measure as investigators await the man's autopsy report.

    A teenager walking home was shot in the leg early Saturday after two men drove up alongside him and told him to get out of the road, according to Volusia County sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson. Tyler Sheaffer, 19, who was walking near the intersection of Alamanda Avenue and Greynolds Street when the accident happened, told deputies a vehicle pulled up to him and two men told Sheaffer to get out of the road. 3 comments

Christopher Todd, 22, of DeLand, pleaded no contest Feb. 1 to three charges: aggravated battery with a motor vehicle and killing a horse, each a second-degree felony, and leaving the scene of a crash with injury, a third-degree felony.
