    The man showed up at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City with a gunshot wound and reported the shooting occurred in Deltona, said sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson.  Preliminary reports from responding deputies indicate the man was shot in his driveway at 1688 Concert Road. The victim reported that a man was walking by, pulled out a gun and started shooting, deputies said. 1 comment

David Wayne Strickland, 56, who Chitwood said pulled off eight robberies since Oct. 6, including one in Lakeland Thursday night where he fired a shot, was discovered washing his car in the driveway of 1304 Harwick Lane in the Plantation Bay subdivision.

    In addition to the original molestation charge, Deltona resident Nathan Gorzelanczyk is now accused of soliciting a 12-year-old boy to expose himself and groping a 14-year-old boy, according to a news release from the Volusia county Sheriff's Office, The Sheriff's Office initially arrested Gorzelanczyk on Monday on one count of lewd or lascivious molestation involving a 12-year-old boy. Through Gorzelanczyk's work with children as a volunteer at local churches and with the Guardian ad Litem program as well as his job at the Florida United Methodist Children's Home - a job he was recently fired from - investigators worried that there could be additional victims.

    An Orange City woman was killed late Wednesday when a car slammed into the back of the vehicle she was riding in on Woodland Boulevard south of Firehouse Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Lindsey Logsdon, 21, was killed in the 9:55 p.m. crash near Orange City, Trooper Steven Montiero said in a statement released Thursday morning.  A Dodge pickup driven by Samuel Walters, 25, of Orange City was traveling north on Woodland and a Kia sedan driven by Teresa Logsdon, 39, was headed west on Firehouse Road.
