Over the years he also joined the Jr. Knights of Peter Claver, The Community Committee of Concerned Citizens of District E, Opelousas/Eunice Low Income Library Board, The T.H. Harris Advisory Board, and, although he is inching his way towards 80 years young, he is still steadfast and unwavering in his commitment to his community while he sits on the St Landry Parish Solid Waste Committee.

Department agents, along with Sabine Parish Sheriff's Office deputies, were ordered to an area near Kite's Landing on Toledo Bend following 911 calls from Dean Bullara, 56, of Opelousas, and Donald Johnson, 48, of DeRidder, who were in a dispute over a public fishing spot.

    A dispute over a public fishing hole escalated Monday on Toledo Bend, leaving one angler with a ticket and another angler who allegedly pulled a firearm booked into the Sabine Parish Correctional Center, according to a press release from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. Sabine Parish Sheriff's Office deputies and enforcement agents with LDWF were dispatched to the scene near Kite's Landing after Dean Bullara, 56, of Opelousas, and Donald Johnson, 48, of Deridder, allegedly got into an altercation over a public fishing area.
