The Vernon County Sheriff's Office said Linnea Rice, 45, of Onalaska was stopped behind a turning vehicle at the intersection of Highway 14 and County B shortly after 4 p.m. As the motorcycle and car waited, another westbound vehicle, driven by Allison Hawthorne, 21, of Westby, became distracted by an oversized load caravan and took her eyes off the road.
