The Inland Wetlands Agency met in executive session on Monday to discuss the litigation related to the application from Bob Fusari Jr. of Real Estate Service of Conn.

    East Lyme - A routine early morning traffic stop led to the arrest of three men who allegedly were in possession of bath salts and had just spray-painted a wall, trash bin and freezer off Flanders Road, police said Wednesday. Police said they stopped the vehicle at 1:18 a.m. because it was coming from behind a commercial establishment with its headlights off.

    A total of $4.3 billion in transportation projects across the state, including work on Interstate 95 in southeastern Connecticut, are "postponed indefinitely until new revenue is appropriated for the Special Transportation Fund," Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and the state Department of Transportation announced Wednesday. Malloy said that his administration will release proposals before the legislative session that - if met with approval from the legislature - would allow the state to reinstate the projects, according to the governor's news release .

The legislators' office hours will take place at 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Old Lyme Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library at 2 Library Lane in Old Lyme and from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16 at the Acton Public Library located at 60 Old Boston Post Road in Old Saybrook.

    Dev Ostrowski scored 26 points, including two big 3-pointers and a thunderous dunk that gave the Vikings the lead for good with just under three minutes remaining, as East Lyme defeated defending Class M champion Brookfield 66-57 on opening day of the high school boys' basketball season. Brookfield, which trailed 20-7 after one quarter, had fought back to take the lead midway through the fourth quarter before Ostrowski, the junior all-state product, worked his magic and willed East Lyme to the win.
