    Kim Hawkins, a hatchery biologist at the Spirit Lake Fish Hatchery in Orleans says gillnetting operations may be getting underway next week, if conditions allow. The average date we start gillnetting is around April 6. That's when the photo period is right for walleyes and usually the water temperatures reaches around 45 degrees.

Iowa State Bank, First State Bank, Farmers Savings Bank, Farmers Trust and Savings Bank and First Community Bank will be able to retain 40.52 percent interest in The Inn's complex in Okoboji, along with its convention center and golf course.

"Over the past five years we've seen an increase in generated revenues through tourism-generated fields, and we also have seen an increase in the last five years in local tax revenues, so that's been pretty exciting," Peters said.
