    A half a dozen police agencies, including the U.S. Border Patrol and Department of Homeland Security, played a part in breaking up a methamphetamine manufacturing operation that resulted in the arrest sof six people Tuesday. The arrests took place following a raid at 217 Gates St. and were the result of a joint effort involving the Ogdensburg Police Department, the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, the Gouverneur Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, New York State Police and the U.S. Border Patrol, according to a statement from Ogdensburg Police.

    The former St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center patient who had a criminally negligent homicide charge dismissed in November pleaded not guilty Tuesday in St. Lawrence County Court on a new charge of first-degree manslaughter. Jose D. Miranda, 66, is accused of causing the death of another patient, 58-year-old Adams native Robert D. Harrienger II, on May 12, 2014, by striking him repeatedly on the head and neck.

Authorities allege that on Nov. 10, 2015, while he was being held at the Riverview Correctional Facility, 1110 Tibbits Drive, Ogdensburg, he intentionally stabbed Trevor Roberts, causing his death.
