    A bill meant to regulate farm amusement rides, such as the haunted hayride that ended in the death of an Oakland teenager last October , will result in a task force to study farm amusement ride safety in Maine. On Monday, the Legislature's Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee voted to give the Maine State Police and the state fire marshal's office until February 2016 to study farmyard amusement rides.

The 6-foot-8-inch, 225-pound forward from Belgrade becomes the second Messalonskee player to earn the award, which was announced Friday morning, joining 1991 recipient Dana Doran.
