    NORTHAMPTON - Giving up his insistence that he be allowed to defend himself, Steven Cuoco was finally arraigned Thursday for allegedly assaulting a correctional officer. Cuoco, 51, of Chicopee currently resides at the Hampshire County House of Correction, where he reportedly struck a correctional officer after shouting for his medication.

Duval said he'll move his entire operation to the Leeds section of Northampton before the snow flies, but until then, he'll write off the civil fines as a cost of doing business in Williamsburg.

    NORTHAMPTON - A Northampton man accused of trying to strangle his mother to death has been indicted by a Hampshire County grand jury for assault and battery on an elderly person, strangulation and suffocation. According to police reports included in court documents, Kevin J. McDonald, 43, of Pleasant Street, was in the middle of a family dispute when police were summoned to Forsander Apartments on May 24. McDonald, who had a warrant on him for another matter, had already fled when police arrived, but they used a K-9 unit to track him to Meadowbrook Apartments.
