    Thomaston police released information Monday on the incident when a commercial box truck hauling frozen bait rolled on its side Friday afternoon, July 6, at a busy intersection. A 2012 International truck owned by Stone Cold Storage of North Yarmouth was heading north on Route 1 and was turning right onto Route 131 shortly after 3 p.m. Friday when -- two witnesses reported -- a car heading south on Route 1 turned left in the path of the truck, according to Thomaston Police Chief Tim Hoppe.

    With cool temperatures and intermittent rain showers providing favorable conditions for runners, 49-year-old Robert Ashby of Brunswick took home top honors in the 36th annual Sugarloaf Marathon on Sunday with a time of 2 hours, 41 minutes, 49 seconds. Maine runners were well-represented in the 15-kilometer race as well, with 30-year-old Jonny Wilson of Falmouth and 49-year-old Christine Hein of North Yarmouth crossing the finish line to win the men's and women's races in 47:07 and 57:37, respectively.

    It has not been the most positive starts for the Camden Hills boys lacrosse team as the Windjammers opened the campaign with two lopsided losses, but the Windjammers righted the ship with a dominating win in their third match against Mount Blue of Farmington. However, the two matches after that first victory have been far from one-sided affairs, as Camden Hills competed against Maranacook of Readfield on Thursday, May 3 and North Yarmouth Academy of Yarmouth two days later on Saturday, May 5. The Windjammers also fell short in those matches, as the Black Bears scored the winning goal in the final five seconds to secure a 5-4 victory and the Panthers earned an 8-2 win on Camden Hills' home turf later in the week.
