    Rabbi Yehuda Benhamu and the B'nai Sephardim Shaare Shalom congregation in Hollywood are continuing to offer services and special events despite the synagogue being the target of vandals on March 16. In the late evening, one or more people went to the construction area of a new social hall being built, entering the synagogue and spreading messages and warnings with a spray can of paint. According to Hollywood police captain Frank Fernandez, the gate of the synagogue was left open because constructions crews were working late on March 16. "It is the most horrible incident of hate to have taken place here, but we have to return to our normal activities.

    The recent mysterious death of Alberto Nisman, the Argentine special prosecutor investigating the 1994 bombing of the Asociacin Mutual Israelita Argentina, the Jewish community center in Buenos Aires, which resulted in 85 fatalities and hundreds of wounded, has shocked and saddened the community. The local community is very suspicious of the circumstances surrounding Nisman's death as he filed a lawsuit the week before he died claiming that Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner and Foreign Minister Hector Timerman covered up for former Iranian officials accused of being involved in the AMIA bombing.
