    A temporary, ad-hoc committee created by the Lubbock City Council last year to study emergency medical services in Lubbock is requesting the creation of a long-standing oversight committee. Councilman Jeff Griffith, who chaired the ad hoc committee, is bringing a resolution to the council meeting Thursday that creates a five-member committee to meet quarterly and examine the level of emergency medical services provided in Lubbock.

LP&L reported it experienced a glitch - a lock-out - at a substation feeding a central and southwest portion of its service territory just after 8:10 a.m. Saturday, according to a statement the municipal utility posted on social media.
