"This project involves a so-called 'scoping study,' which is essentially a preliminary assessment of a potential sidewalk on Mechanic Street," said Jim Sullivan, director of the BCRC and project manager for the Mechanic Street project.

    BENNINGTON >> A group of four Bennington County artists is collaborating on a holiday pop-up art gallery, which will be on exhibit at a former retail space, 415 Main St., starting today, Friday, Dec. 12, and running through Saturday, Dec. 20. The installation will feature a holiday-themed gallery, with displays of paintings by Judy Kniffin of North Bennington and Tony Conner of Bennington; ceramics by Battenkill River Pottery's Jessica Putnam-Phillips of Arlington; and hand-crafted furniture by Ray Finan of Arlington. "We were planning to do something together this season," Putnam-Phillips said.
