    A white former North Augusta police officer pleaded guilty Monday to misconduct in office after fatally shooting an elderly black motorist two years ago, a case that raised questions about deadly force tactics and the public's right to see dashcam videos of police shootings. A judge sentenced Justin Craven, 27, to three years of probation and 80 hours of community service after he entered the plea in the death of Ernest Satterwhite, 68, the Aiken Standard reported.

    Authorities say DNA collected at the 1990 strangulation of a woman in a North Augusta hotel room has led to the arrest of her killer 25 years later. Police said in a news release Friday that 44-year-old Vincent Hampton has been charged with murder in Aiken County after unsuccessfully fighting extradition from Augusta, Georgia, where he was in jail serving 12 months for simple battery.
