    CHESHIRE >> Two separate accidents on Route 8 Friday afternoon led to four drivers being taken to the hospital, according to authorities. A two-car collision in the area of Whitney's Farm Stand at 5:06 p.m. left a 36-year-old North Adams man driving a 2009 Hyundai Sonata and a 77-year-old Adams woman driving a 2013 GMC Terrain with serious injuries, according to Trooper Matthew Guarino, Massachusetts State Police spokesman.

    The 19th annual Pittsfield Garden Tour will take place Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, July 19, from noon to 4 p.m. In addition to seven homeowner maintained gardens, Jim McGrath, the Parks and Recreation and Open Space director for the City of Pittsfield, will be conducting tours of the newly refurbished Common including the recent landscaping and lighting surrounding Infinite Dance, the sculpture donated by the Pittsfield Garden Tour. Tickets are on sale at Carr Hardware in Pittsfield, Great Barrington and North Adams; Crown Jewelers in Allendale; Berkshire Mountain Bakery and Pizza Cafe on Elm Street; and Different Drummer and The Bookstore in Lenox.

Joshua Allen, 27, of North Adams, was sentenced to 15 months' probation and ordered by Judge William Rota to continue treatment through the Department of Veterans Affairs and complete a batterers' program.
