    One person is dead and two are injured after deputies say a car in northern Spokane County hit a tree while attempting to pass another vehicle. The incident happened at around 9 p.m. Saturday near 18719 N. South Bank Road in Nine Mile Falls, when a driver and two passengers in a 1997 Chevrolet pick up truck lost control while overtaking another vehicle, left the roadway and hit a fence and tree.
