For the past few months, Brown, Nicollet and Nicollet counties have come together with MBW Company in New Ulm to develop a grant proposal to have a full-time MBW staff person create independent living services for people with disabilities in the three-county area, according to the Request for Board Action .

    The Sleepy Eye City Council unanimously approved a contract for Private Development/Business Subsidy Agreement with Kibble Equipment, LLC on Tuesday. Under the agreement, Kibble Equipment proposed construction of a new 48,000-square foot implement dealership on 15 acres in the former Snow Farm property on the east edge of town, just south of Highway 14. Kibble must operate in the City of Sleepy Eye for at least five years, add at least one full-time employee within two years with a future goal of adding 25 to 30 employees at the dealership.

    Courtland was picked over two other teams that sought admission - the New Ulm Kaiserhoff, currently a member of the River Valley League and the Milroy Irish, members of the Gopher League. With three teams seeking to join the Tomahawk East League, a vote was first taken from current teams on how many teams they would want to have join ranging from zero which would keep the league the same to as many as three which would expand the league to 14 teams.
