    A Niantic man who entered his neighbors' unlocked homes in 2013 and stole jewelry, money and scrap metal was sentenced Wednesday in New London Superior Court to 2½ years in prison. Claude M. Adams, 26, formerly of Osprey Lane and Bidwell St., Niantic, had pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny and fourth-degree larceny.

    East Lyme High School will induct seven new members into its Football Hall of Fame when it holds its annual induction ceremony on Friday, May 29. Les Owen , Al Thompson , Jim Roselund , Tyler Berry , Matt Lamoureux , Aaron Zrenda and Tim Allen will be honored at the event, which will be held at Smarty's on Main St. in Niantic starting at 6 p.m. In addition, the Alumni Memorial Award will be presented to Corey Brimmer , Eric Stirtan and Zane Smallidge , while Dave and Vicki Knopf will receive the Otto Graham Spirit Award. Tickets for the ceremony are $50 for adults and $25 for children ages 12-under.
