A series of three earthquakes have rumbled off the Oregon coast, but all appeared too distant to cause any problems on land. The U.S. Geological Survey says the largest was a magnitude-5.8 quake that struck shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday and was centered in the Pacific nearly 300 miles west of Newport. Comment?
