    Henry Rhim, 63, of Newport News was taken into custody on October 12 after two female inmates at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail say he made sexual advances toward them. Court documents said Rhim touched the inmates inappropriately, made inappropriate comments, and, on one occasion, made them remove their clothes while working in the laundry room.

    The owner of Coastal Dog Services in Newport News has been charged with animal care and cruelty related crimes in connection with incidents that led to the death of two dogs. The Newport News Animal Services Division recently concluded an investigation into an incident that happened on Aug. 26 which also led to charges for a situation that took place on June 23. Rick Joseph Tevelia, 61, was charged with two counts of cruelty to animals and two counts of a boarding establishment failing to meet the adequate care requirements.
