    Two Carteret County men have been arrested on charges connected to a 1987 rape and kidnapping case after an investigation was re-opened after nearly 30 years. A Carteret County grand jury returned indictments this week against Jerry Cornelius Jones, 65, of Newport, and Etharay Jefferson, 62, of Morehead City arising from the sexual and physical assault of the alleged victim, who was 13 years old at the time, according to information from the office of District Attorney Scott Thomas.
