The proposed ATV park would be a first for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources which currently offers other types of outdoor recreation facilities and activities such as golf, hiking, fishing, boat ramps, and camping.

    Volunteers are quickly signing up for Chattahoochee Riverkeeper's 7th Annual Sweep the Hooch , to be held on Saturday, April 8. Last year, 582 volunteers pulled 15.5 tons of trash from the river and its tributaries. This one-day event will take place at more than 40 cleanup sites covering 100+ river miles with opportunities to walk, wade, or paddle.

Enoch Buster Simmons, 26, is facing several charges including reckless driving, attempting to elude police and theft by receiving stolen property, according to Chief Deputy James Yarbrough with the Coweta County Sheriff's Office.

Police have named 33-year-old David Allen Fritts as the man killed in a shooting and subsequent car crash on West Washington Street in Newnan on Friday, January 20. Fritts attended Heard County schools with the class of 2003 and according to his obituary had recently moved to Hogansville.
