    Three men and a woman are facing assault charges following an altercation Saturday night outside a Clark Street business that reportedly started when one of the alleged assailants made a racial slur toward a 10-year-old boy and his father. Cambridge police charged Davis L. Armstrong, 32, Kimbolton; David R. Mosley, 46, Kimbolton; Bradford J. Herda, 40, Kimbolton; and Amy Jo Edwards, 42, Newcomerstown, each with one count of assault for allegedly assaulting the father and his wife during the altercation outside Circle K just before 11:30 p.m. According to reports, a Gomber Avenue resident reported he was standing on his porch just after 11 p.m. when a male, later identified as Armstrong, walked by and made a racial slur toward him.

    A Bethel Road residence was damaged by a blaze early Thursday afternoon that resulted in firefighters from three area departments being dispatched to the scene in Wheeling Township in northern Guernsey County. Firefighters from the Liberty, Newcomerstown and Port Washington volunteer fire departments were dispatched to the scene after the fire was reported to Tuscarawas County authorities at approximately 12:25 p.m. The caller reported a propane gas tank and a vehicle were close to the one-story house where the fire broke out.
