    California Highway Patrol officials said the woman was headed south on I-15, just south of Field Road, in a 2003 Dodge Dakota at 9:15 p.m. when the crash occurred. “For unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the Dodge, subsequently allowing it to enter the dirt median, where the Dodge overturned several times,” officials stated.

    Tanan Pruett, 28, of Newberry Springs, was arrested after San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department officials responded to a home in the 45000 block of Esperanza Road Tuesday afternoon. Officials said in a Wednesday statement that Pruett had an active parole violation warrant for his arrest and refused to exit the home when deputies arrived, instead slamming the door shut and moving furniture to attempt to barricade the front door.

    With recorded gusts high as high as 60 mph, the National Weather Service issued a high wind warning for the region and local law enforcement agencies and city officials urged residents to take precautions when outside. The winds, which were consistently between 40 and 50 mph and persisted until late into the evening, caused several power outages throughout the Victor Valley and Barstow areas and toppled multiple trees, with one family escaping injury after a tree smashed through the patio of their mobile home in Victorville.
