    Junior wide receiver Markell Castle and sophomore kicker Shea Rodgers have won AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Offensive and Special Teams Player of the Week honors, respectively, after Newberry's dominant 34-7 win at Lenoir-Rhyne Saturday. Castle finished his day with six catches for 135 yards and three touchdowns, accounting for nearly 70 percent of the Wolves' production through the air.

    Walter Shealy III of Newberry was ranked as the fifth largest and Monadnock Ranch of Newberry was ranked as eighth largest in registering the most Angus beef cattle in South Carolina with the American Angus Association during fiscal year 2017, which ended Sept. 30, according to Allen Moczygemba, CEO of the Association.

Michelle Ling emerged as the victor for the Wolves in the women's 5K, followed by Hayden Francis, as the two would take the top two spots. Ling had fallen earlier in the race while trailing in third place but was able to recover to take the top scoring position for Newberry.
