    A judge has ordered a New Town woman who caused a fatal car crash in 2015 to serve two years in prison and to speak with North Dakota students about the dangers of reckless driving. Thirty-five-year-old Cocoa Cummings pleaded guilty in April to an amended charge of negligent homicide, stemming from an Aug. 2015 crash that took the life of 26-year-old Brittany Westman of Plaza.

    The Mountrail County Sheriff says the body of Chad Kanine of New Town was found on the east shore of the Missouri River, 1/2 mile south of the 4Bears Bridge. Kanine was positively identified by a tattoo.

    The Mountrail County Sheriff says search efforts for a missing jet skier near New Town on the Missouri River has now turned into a recovery effort. The Mountrail County Sheriffs office was notified of an unattended jet ski Sunday morning around 10 A.M., just south of the Four Bears Bridge.

    We now know the name of the second man who died in a fiery semi crash on Highway 23B near New Town on May 6. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 45-year-old Douglas Baldwin, of Creston, Ohio, was driving the frac sand semi that drifted into the wrong lane and collided head-on with 29-year-old Anthony Gonzales of Hamilton, Mont., who was driving a semi filled with crude oil.
