    Plans for a casino in the Southern Tier became a bit clearer Tuesday when developer Jeff Gural, who wants to reconfigure his Tioga Downs harness track/racino in Nichols, appeared before a crowd of supporters Tuesday in the Tioga County town to lay out details of his plans. "I wasn't going to quit," Gural said during a presentation which was also broadcast over a phone line.

    Q: A quick Google search reveals that there is some confusion out there about what is actually meant by "school days" in the sign "No right on red, school days 8-4," since schools are not in session many weekdays throughout the year, especially in the summer. If the rule applies on these days as well - as I personally think it does, but there are those who disagree - wouldn't it have been much clearer to simply say "Monday-Friday"? Or am I wrong, and drivers are expected to keep track of which days schools are in session? A: You should stick to the rule on weekdays year-round, said Peter Bucci , a spokesman for the state Department of Motor Vehicles .

    Donato, 57, of 64 Normanskill Road, Voorheesville, was attending a party Sunday at a rural home at 21 Altamont Road when he became highly intoxicated and fell asleep sitting in a lawn chair near a backyard campfire, police said. Albany County Sheriff's deputies said when people at the party woke up the next morning they found Donato's badly burned body in the charred remains of the fire.
