Zautner, 55, who has worked at the Toll Gate since he was a youngster, is in critical but stable condition in the intensive care unit at St. Peter's Hospital following emergency surgery for an intestinal mass, said his sister, Mary Zautner Smart.

    After a fire engulfed a vacant Nancy Lane home early Thursday morning, Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple said his deputies are investigating the blaze as "suspicious." Apple said he couldn't discuss exactly why investigators are dubious about the fire's cause but said suspicion first arose from "information that was relayed by initial responders."
