    Entergy customers have been asked to reduce their electricity usage on Thursday between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m. The Midcontinent Independent System Operator is making this unusual request because use of electricity could exceed available generation, due to higher than expected demand for power and unexpected power generator outages within the MISO southern territory, according to a news release issued by Entergy. The higher than expected demand is due to the unusually cold temperatures that moved into the territory over the past few days.

John Bel Edwards announced a $600 million infrastructure plan that involves bonds that will help to fund a brand new I-10 interchange in Kenner for the new terminal at Louis Armstrong International Airport that remains under construction. "That is the Loyola interchange on I-10 to access the new billion dollar airport terminal that is being built there, and so we're going to finance that project as well through Garvees [bonds]," Edwards said.

Lambert has been booked with two counts of armed robbery for incidents that occurred on Dec.29 and 31, and on theft and battery charges in another offense that occurred on Dec. 30. Lambert was arrested in the 2200 block of Severn Ave. in Metairie on Jan. 9, 2017 with the assistance of the US Marshal's Service-New Orleans Field Office.
