    A New Matamoras man accused of trafficking in and possession of significant amounts of heroin and cocaine was among the 24 people indicted by the Washington County grand jury this week. Timothy D. Dunn, 48, of 605 Fourth St., New Matamoras, was indicted on 25 counts, including one count of trafficking in heroin, a second-degree felony; one count of possession of heroin, a second-degree felony; and one count of trafficking in cocaine, a third-degree felony.

Brian Schuck of the Washington County Sheriff's Office could not have made clearer the reasons for responsible patients to drop off prescription medications at a 2016 National Drug Take Back Day location Saturday. Rather than tossing them in the garbage, keeping them in the medicine cabinet or flushing them into the water supply, medications can be taken to a number of approved locations between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, for proper disposal.
