    The former manager of a doctor's office in Fulton and Utica was sentenced to 15 months in prison today for defrauding Medicare by billing for patients' treatments when there was no doctor in the office. Bonnie Meislin, 45, of New Hartford, was convicted in February of 23 counts of health care fraud and a count of conspiracy.

The woman was walking along the north shoulder of Route 5, west of Applewood Boulevard, around 11:35 p.m. When she tried to cross the road, she was struck by a westbound vehicle and sent airbourne, New Hartford police Chief Michael Inserra said in a news release.

New Hartford police say their preliminary investigation shows the motorcyclist was traveling south on Route 12 when a northbound vehicle attempted to turn left onto Brimfield Street in front of the motorcycle, causing the head-on collision.
