    New Castle, Indiana, to Ernest and Joan Saul Poynter, Mike was a 1966 graduate of Chrysler High School in New Castle. He was a graduate of Lain Technical Institute in Indianapolis, Indiana, with a degree in architectural drafting. Mike was an assistant engineer for the City of Richmond, worked at NATCO, and worked for 25 years as the head of maintenance for Centerville Schools. He served on the Centerville Volunteer Fire Department. Mike was a member of the Centerville Lions Club and the Richmond Sons of the American Legion Post 65. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time in the outdoors, woodworking, and collecting beer steins. Mike was known by many and was always willing to help others. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Sherry Rengers Poynter; daughter, Wendy Joelle Brod of Muncie, Indiana; grandsons, Shawn Brod and Nathan Brod; sister, Nancy (Bill) Fullerton of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother, Mark Poynter of Noblesville, Indiana; nieces, Amber Thompson and Alyson (Mark) Madsen, both of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Brittany Poynter, Lisa Poynter, and Madison Poynter, all of Noblesville, Indiana; nephew, Chase Poynter of Noblesville, Indiana; cousins, including Eric Miller of Hagerstown, Indiana; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation for Ernest Michael "Mike" Poynter will be from 2 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2015, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Morris officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Norma was employed at Sears for three years early in her working life. She retired as an inspector from Dana in 1989 after 23 years of service, during which time she also lived and worked in Georgia, Alabama and Pennsylvania. She had lived in Hagerstown since 2002. Norma enjoyed traveling throughout her life and corresponding with her friends. Norma will be missed by her husband, Ron; sons, Kenny Oler and his fiancee, Darla; Tim Oler and his wife, Jerri; Doug Oler and his companion, Karen; and Jeff Oler and his wife, Melissa; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Ryan, Christyna, Samantha, Kayla, Jacki, Jason, Nick and Samantha; two great-grandchildren, Zoey and Lilly; three sisters, Doris Ladd, Marilyn Dennis and Gayle Mikesell; one brother, Bill Gamber. Norma was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Janet. A judge sentenced George Alan Kinser to a four-year suspended sentence with four years of probation Thursday after the New Castle man pleaded guilty to three counts of terrorist mischief.
