    Three members of a New Castle family died Friday after their SUV struck a bear on Interstate 70 near Rifle, rolling across the median and ejecting all seven passengers, according to the Colorado State Patrol and the Garfield County Coroner's Office. Kimberly Hernandez, 7, and her grandfather Eugenio Hernandez Altamirano, 63, were pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 4:45 a.m., Coroner Robert Glassmire said in a statement.

The arrest warrant affidavit by Garfield County Sheriff's Office investigator Brian Sutton says Jeffrey Burk, 31, of New Castle also was involved last year in a similar I-70 accident in Vail in which a woman suffered facial injuries.
