    Michigan State Police used DNA to identify the body of a man found in an Upper Peninsula house fire last month. The remains of Joseph Ray Roop, 61, of Eben Junction, were found in a home on N5113 ET Road in Rock River Township after firefighters were called there for an overnight blaze on July 14. No foul play is suspected in Roop's death, according to state police from the Negaunee Post.

    A woman in Michigan's Upper Peninsula was stuck in a snow bank for two hours before she was rescued by the Michigan State Police. According to the MSP, the incident began when a trooper from MSP's Negaunee Post was dispatched a home on Midway Drive around 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17. Police had received a call from the woman's employer who indicated she had not shown up for work or made contact, which was highly unusual.

According to Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post, the incident began around 3:35 p.m. on Feb. 8 when the woman's sister reported the woman had gotten lost traveling from Menominee to Republic.

    Michigan State Police have identified two people who were injured late Thursday when a home exploded and was engulfed in flames. James David Mallon, 36, and Danica Lynn Mallon, 40, both of Gwinn, had driven from the fire scene at 58820 County Road 426 to a home in Gwinn, where someone saw their injuries and called 911, police said.

    According to a release from the Michigan State Police Department, troopers were sent to a single-vehicle crash at 2:20 p.m. on M-35, approximately half a mile south of U.S. 41 in Negaunee Township. Police said Williams slid of the roadway and into a ditch, which caused his vehicle to overturn.
