    A mountain lion was put down Friday evening in Boulder Canyon after running in front of a moving vehicle and sustaining what the Colorado State Patrol described as serious head trauma. A man driving a Subaru Outback was headed west on Boulder Canyon Drive toward Nederland at about 6:25 p.m. when a mountain lion emerged from Boulder Creek and ran out in front of the car, according to State Patrol.
