    The Board of Selectmen was shown a preliminary design proposal for the $42 million Nantucket Harbor sewer project Wednesday that revealed the majority of properties in the sewer district will have to install pumps in order to connect to the system. Nearly 80 percent of the 390 properties in the vicinity of Nantucket Harbor and a number of mid-island properties will be connected through forced low-pressure sewer lines, meaning homeowners will be on the hook for installation and maintenance of pumps that can cost $15,000 for purchase, installation and landscaping.
