    In a release late Saturday night, the Coast Guard announced it had suspended a search for a man who went missing while tubing behind a pontoon boat near the Town of Duck. The Coast Guard began the search around 1:05 p.m. Saturday and suspended it more than eight hours later at 9:45 p.m. The Coast Guard used a small boat response crew from Nags Head and a helicopter crew from Air Station Elizabeth City.

A statement from the Coast Guard said the command center in Wilmington received a 911 call on Thursday about a 30-year-old man was seen by his wife and friend going under water at Corolla Beach and not resurfacing.
