What they found was that even though there was growth in counties along the Highway 59 and Highway 69 corridor, such as Angelina and Nacogdoches, the more rural counties were experiencing enough economic decline to affect the entire region.

    Nacogdoches County game wardens wrote tickets for a man's wife and his uncle at the same time after each were caught hunting illegally. According to the Texas Parks & Wildlife game warden notes, two wardens noticed a man cleaning a deer, which was not tagged, in his garage.

    In the wake of a decision by the Texas Court of Appeals in December 2014, the state agreed to a new sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole for the Nacogdoches man involved in a murder-for-hire plot that resulted in the death of his then-girlfriend's stepfather in 2005. Colton Weir, 25, appeared in Judge Edwin Klein's 420th Judicial District Court Thursday.

    The Precinct 1 Constable's Office arrested a 23-year-old man on Tuesday in connection to an allegation that he stole at least one big-screen television from the Aaron's Rental store on University Drive in Nacogdoches. Kevin O'Neal Tucker, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a state-jail felony theft between $1,500 and $20,000 charge.

Allan Lee Stevens is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a third-degree felony charge of indecency with a child by exposure, a third-degree felony charge of online solicitation of a minor, and a state-jail felony charge of possession of a controlled substance less than on gram.
