Freshman guard Eddie Tornes led the Jayhawks with 28 points, 13 rebounds and three assists while freshman guard Marcus Tumblin had 26 points and eight rebounds in the winning effort. "Very pleased with the way played today," said MCC head coach Dave Schlump in a release.

    If the Muskegon County Prosecutor's Office can show probable cause that Isiah Amos Spears shot an 18-year-old Muskegon Heights man over gang-related activity, then an additional, "gang-related" charge against him will stand, a judge ruled Monday, Dec. 29. Spears, 21, of Muskegon is charged with open murder in the Jan. 24, 2013, drive-by shooting death of 18-year-old Kentae Jones while Jones was helping carry a couch into a Muskegon Heights home in the 2400 block of Sixth Street. Muskegon County Senior Assistant Prosecutor Robert F. Hedges argued Monday in the courtroom of Chief Muskegon County 14th Circuit Judge William C. Marietti that there is enough evidence to add on the hefty 20-year felony charge to Spears' open murder charge.
