Everett, 34, was shot in the head shortly after 6 p.m. June 30, 2015, while she was driving her minivan north on Eighth Street near Columbia Avenue in Muskegon Heights.

    Two health care centers in Muskegon County that specialize in helping some of the region's most vulnerable patients have been awarded $68,550 in Affordable Care Act funding. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced Tuesday that about two dozen health centers in Michigan , including Hackley Community Care Center and Muskegon Family Care, received $1.4 million for the federal agency's Health Center Quality Improvement program for fiscal year 2015.
