    The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying one person wanted in connection with an armed robbery Monday night. The robbery occurred at the Kangaroo Express located at 5146 Highway 17 Bypass in Murrells Inlet around 11:45 p.m. Police say that one man, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark baggy pants, gloves and a bandana covering his face, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money.

    Horry County police now say what was reported as a shooting and armed robbery in Murrells Inlet was a failed suicide attempt. Police said they responded to Grand Strand Gold and Silver store on Highway 17 South in Murrells Inlet for a shooting around 6:30 p.m. The victim had told police that he had walked up to the business, realized it was closed, and was heading back to his car when someone shot him once and robbed him of a bag containing jewelry and cash.
