    Franklin's Lady Rebels soccer team jumped out to a 2-0 lead behind the foot of senior Peyton DePriest and then stymied every attempt top-rated Houston tried to upset the Lady Mustangs Thursday and advance to the finals of the TSSAA state soccer championships at the Richard Siegel Soccer Complex in Murfreesboro. Franklin came into the game fresh off a 4-0 defeat of Tennessee on Wednesday as a warm-up to hand Houston, out of Germantown near Memphis, their first defeat in nearly three years.

    Peyton DePriest and Jessica Bissinger scored a pair of goals each to lead a dominating Franklin Lady Rebels soccer team past Tennessee High of Bristol 4-0 in the quarterfinals of the TSSAA Class AAA State Soccer Championships at the Richard Siegel Soccer Complex in Murfreesboro Wednesday afternoon. The pair set the standard for the domination in the first minute of play when a Bissinger shot on goal was rejected but rebounded straight to DePriest who deftly footed the ball into the net to give the Lady Rebels a 1-0 lead after just 53 seconds of play against the Vikings .
