VanMullekom said the diner, which opened its doors early on Friday before the official grand opening on Saturday, shredded, sliced and served its way through 700 pounds of potatoes - a Munger-area specialty - over opening weekend.

    A former interim Buena Vista Township police chief's blood alcohol content was nearly twice the legal limit when he was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated, according to a police report. Kevin Kratz of Munger was arrested about 5:32 a.m. Saturday, July 23, near 1162 S. Finn in Merritt Township, after a witness reported seeing his Saturn VUE in a corn field, according to a Bay County Sheriff's Office arrest report.
