The tax increase is part of the 2015 Mount Pleasant Growth Management Plan , which is a multitiered framework for decreasing housing density, increasing transportation impact fees and buying land for public use.

  17. S.C. State Ports Authority plans to improve terminals in fiscal year 2016Read the original story

    The authority will invest $73.3 million over the next 12 months in the ongoing construction of the new container terminal on the former Navy base, which will open in late 2019. Capital funding will also be used to continue improvements on existing terminal infrastructure to accommodate the larger ships and increased cargo coming to the Port of Charleston once expansion of the Panama Canal is complete.
