    A small northern Indiana college has received $3 million worth of Illinois farmland from the estate of a former student who attended only three semesters more than 70 years ago. Goshen College says the donation comes from Milo Albrecht of Morton, Illinois, who died in April at age 94. The land donation follows his 2014 gift of $2 million in stock to the 1,000-student liberal-arts college affiliated with the Mennonite Church.

    A 19-year-old central Illinois man has pleaded not guilty to trying to kill an elderly man who was protecting children the man was trying to attack with a knife. The Pekin Daily Times reports that Dustin Brown of Morton entered the plea Monday to attempted murder and other charges.
