    The Moriah varsity football team played tough defense and got a big score in the fourth quarter as they advanced to their third NYSPHSAA Class D title game with a 6-0 win over Haldane Sunday. The Vikings will now face Clymer/Sherman/Panama for the Class D championship Friday at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse with kickoff set for noon.

The Vikings come off a bye week after beating Ticonderoga for the Section VII/Class D title two weeks ago, while the Burghers defeated Hoosic Valley in the Section II/Class D championship game last Saturday in Schuylerville.

Meanwhile, the Keene girls varsity team finished the season with a pair of wins over Crown Point and another against Willsboro to place second in Division III and earn the fourth seed for the Class D playoffs starting this Thursday. "It's amazing, we have grown so much as a team and we have been able to pull through thanks to our effort and everyone wants to win," said Blue Bomber Lydia Bullock, who scored all three goals for the Blue Bombers in the division-clinching win over Chazy.

    The Moriah Vikings and Ticonderoga Sentinels held senior night festivities at their respective fields Oct. 5, as the Viking scored a 36-14 win over AuSable Valley, while Ticonderoga was defeated by Plattsburgh High, 22-0. Trailing 7-0 early in the opening quarter, the Vikings opened up their offense and scored 24 straight points on their way to a 22 point victory over the Patriots.
