A dike has eroded along Sawmill Creek, north of Seward, leading to inundation on property in the vicinity of Sawmill Creek and Nash road. Rainfall has also contributed to flooding on the south end of the Seward runway.

    A kids' history assignment became a project that had an entire community rummaging through drawers and attics for photos. The culmination of the project, two years later, celebrated the origin of this small town of 217 people with the installation of several interpretive panels at the Moose Pass Library.

    The Marathon Miners Wrestling Club attended the Alaska USA State Wrestling Tournament May 3rd - 5th in Wasilla. Thursday, May 3rd was a Folkstyle wrestling tournament, we had 17 wrestlers registered and 12 of them took home medals!! Medals are awarded for 1st through 6th place due to the number of wrestlers in each weight class during the State Tournament.
