Roby's bill, H.R. 3234, also known as the "Failing VA Medical Center Recovery Act," will require top VA officials to intervene at the worst performing VA medical centers by deploying a "rapid response team" of managers and medical professionals to turn them around.

    A fatal, early Tuesday morning car crash in Montgomery is now a homicide investigation, according to investigators with the Montgomery Police Department. Authorities arrested the driver, Michael Williams, and charged him with murder hours after his Lexus LS400 crashed on Interstate 65 south near U.S. Highway 80. The crash happened around 3:20 a.m. as Williams was exiting the interstate onto Hwy.

Lawmakers from the House and Senate met for the first time since adjourning back on July 13. Both Speaker Hubbard and Sen.
