    UPDATE 12/11/14 11:22a.m.: California State Parks Department has closed the following parks on the central coast due to the storm: Big Basin Redwoods State Park, New Brighton State Beach, Seacliff State Beach, and Sunset State Beach have been closed, and are expected to remain closed through next Wednesday December 16. Carmel River State Beach, Julia Pfieffer Burns State Park and Point Lobos State Natural Reserve will close Thursday and Friday. UPDATE 12/11/14 10:31a.m.: CALFIRE has closed Empire Grade Rd at Waldorf School, and Felton Empire Rd at Hwy 9 for the foreseeable future because of worsening conditions on the roadways.
